Three Million Ballot Papers Arrive


The National Elections Commission (NEC) Sunday announced the arrival of 3.5 million ballot papers for the scheduled presidential election.
NEC’s Chairman Cllr. Jerome Korkoya said at a news conference the ballot papers were transported into the country from Slovenia by a special flight on Saturday night, September 23 via the Roberts International Airport and escorted to in the presence of State Security and the media.
According to Korkoya, the ballot papers are being secured at a storage facility under the protection of tate’s security until preparations are finalized to have it distributed to the 5,390 polling places across the various voting precincts around the country.
He also indicated that ballot papers for the representative election are expected to arrive in country from Ghana before 28 September.
“NEC logistical personnel and the Liberia National Police begun the deployment of pre packed kids to Bomi and Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties since Saturday September 23, 207, and the deployment of kids to counties start in the course of the week ” Cllr. Korkoya disclosed.
