The Internal Auditing Agency (IAA), Monday 1, 2018 embarked on a five-day retreat to validate the entity’s five-year strategic plan.
Giving an overview of the program in Monrovia, the agency’s Director General, Emmanuel B. Nyeswa, indicated that the strategic plan will ensure proficiency of IAA agents and ultimately advance standard internal auditing that would save government of waste expenditure and minimize corruption in ministries and agencies.
The strategic planning incorporates the human resource manual, the procurement manual, audit manual, and the accounting manual,” Nyeswa informed.
The retreat’s opening ceremony brought together lecturers and participants- including Public Procurement Concession Commission’s Executive Director, James Dorbor Jallah who spoke on the topic “The Importance of Procurement Manual in Public Service Delivery.
Mr. Jallah said it is vital to have a procurement manual because it shows consistency in the IAA’s reporting which, otherwise, stands to crumble.
